Internship and Volunteers:
At Windrose, we have never had a set program for interns and volunteers. But we love to talk with and meet anyone who is interested in spending time on the farm.
we ask applicants to stay over night on the farm and then work with us for a day. Besides giving us time to talk, there is time to see sunset, sunrise and get a feel for the land. If we are all comfortable, we can discuss plans: length of stay , areas of interest etc.
Interns stay in the Tree House Trailer. Camping is also possible. compensation is based on minimum wage and any agreement as to room and board is included.
Volunteers are chosen the same way but there is a lighter work load and only room and board offered when needed.
We have found that this “loosy – goosy system” has worked very well for us. By taking more time to get to know each other, we have been able to have wonderful experiences with the young people who have chosen come to stay with us. Several are really part of the Windrose Family .
